"They say great leaders don’t seek leadership, they have it thrust upon them." - Davan quoting Worf
Dave Mader is a Canadian podcaster and one of the founders of the United Federation of Podcasts. He claims that they call him "King of the Geeks" but Dave also says "they" call him many things including things like "Dave the Rave" and the "fastest man alive".
A life-long fan of science fiction and fantasy, Dave co-founded Live Long and Podcast with Jaemeel Robinson in 2013. On this trek-themed channel, they cover a vast array of topics including episode reviews from the various series and Star Trek Radio Theatre, where Dave and the crew do script readings of episodes and movies with some colourful voices. Dave reunited with his long-lost cousin Davan Skelhorn in 2021, and half of the Locutors of Trek, the podcasts joined forces to bring an even stronger offering to the listeners.
Dave also has a passion for unscripted reality shows like Big Brother and Survivor, which he covers on the Super Mader Bros. podcast with Jaemeel Robinson, his brother Jeff Mader and other panellists. He is also a co-creator (along with his brother Jeff) and producer of the Trivial Debates podcast.
Dave is also actively involved with the View Askew Street Hockey League since 2011, an street hockey league founded by his longtime hero, writer/director Kevin Smith.
Dave is the proud father of fellow podcaster Eamon "Thunderbird" Mader and lives in Ontario with his wife Jane and their two cats, Jayden and Spot who are both named after characters from Star Trek: The Next Generation. After completing a diploma from Sheridan College, Dave embarked on a career focused on charitable fundraising as well as retail marketing.
He now dedicates much of his time to pursuing his passions such as photography, running, and of course, podcasting.
